When a blade is released in either SR-101 or SR-71 is the Rc measurement along the edge the same regardless of whether it is through hardened or differentially hardened? Does Dan compromise some edge retention by lowering the overall hardness for a through heated knife to give it more tensile strength or is it hardened to the same degree as the edge of a differentially heated blade? I know this is kind of long winded and a bit convoluted so if you need me to rephrase or re-ask the question let me know. Thanks!
