It's called CBT . . . Corrugated Bevel Technology. It's supposed to strengthen the blade and reduce overall weight while reducing the cutting friction along the entire height of the bevel. But to me, it's just an eyesore.
Amen! To me (theoretically speaking) the peaks just seem to be there to snag what you are chopping, impeding the effectiveness of your cuts. (But then I cancelled my FBM order so I haven't used one.)
