In the "tactical" pack arena I like Eagle Industries packs. They are made in the US and backed by a great warranty (SpecOps does as well). I really like my AIII pack quite a bit and have had it for a few years now. I have the extra side pouches as well, but usually don't end up using them since I got the large AIII.
