Is that a Chinese or Russian rifle? Very nice, I always love Ak's and I had 10 at one time. Sold all of them but 4 of them, 2 Chinese pre-bans (ak56s and Polytech Legend) 1 Bulgarian SLR-95 and 1 Hungarian (SA-2000). I had the chance to shoot some sweet ak's while in Iraq. I have some pics I will post in another thread, but there where 2 sweet Bulgarian milled underfolder ak's that I shot at a range and they were sweet!!!
This one is from a Russian kit. It was my dad who got me in to AK's. First it was AR's, then FAL's, then AK's. Mainly because my dad assembling a couple FAL's from kits and then we got setup for AK's. This RPD was a bit over our heads due to the conversion from open bolt to closed bolt so we farmed this one out.
One of my favorite AK's is the AMD65. It's compact and makes a nice Jeep gun for trips out in the desert. Here is a pic of the AMD when it was new.
