I already answered but I wanted to get in on the "what a survival knife should do" part.

A survival knife is just that, a single knife that you have with you that helps you to survive by performing whatever tasks you need it to perform while stuck in the situation you are in. The environment could be forest, jungle, desert, wilderness, urban or any other. The tasks you would need to perform include but aren't limited to chopping wood, making fires, digging, prying, killing and cleaning food, self-defense, cutting vines and other materials for building shelter, hammering, carving to make utensils and weapons and much much more.

Now, when I think of all of these things and try to come up with a single knife and size that I would prefer, it would have to be something with a large enough blade to chop well, but small enough to do some of the more intricate work and tough enough to pry and hammer without breaking - all while being light enough to carry with me at all times.

I like 6"/5" - Of the knives I own I would say my Camp Tramp, bravo-1, or something similar. I think the S5 might even make a good one. Ultimately, I would like to have a folder with me as well for the smaller jobs - and I probably would since I carry one every day.
