What is the advantage of the convex grind?

It is stronger than a hollow grind or flat grind. It is good for chopping especially, but it works well for all types of cutting. The curved shape penetrates with less resistance to the medium than a sharp bevel edge. Think of the shape of a modern rifle bullet. That is the cross sectional shape of a convex grind. If done right, it chops unbelievably well. The Busse competition editions, Fallkniven, and most Bark Rivers use the convex grind.
