I like kydex a lot for coated blades. It's compact, light, and retains well. On the other hand, kydex can scratch blades, is less comfortable to carry than leather, and is noisier.
It can also crack in really cold weather.
No offense Andy, but in almost 10 years of making/selling sheaths all over the world I have never had one come back because of the cold breaking a sheath. Never once. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Must be how they are made & the materials ?
