I agree Pop.

I don't think I can turn my back on the SS4. But, I have been comparing and while the SS4 is still just awesome, the S5 offers a bit more for very little extra size or weight.

Personally, I missed on the Muk and have been regretting the miss.

I think the MPLE is under-rated.

The Bird wasn't my thing and I am not feeling too left out. But, glad others seem to really like them.

The DMCG is still an amazing TANK. But, not as realistically usefull for my purposes.

The S5 is AWESOME. In MANY ways, it offers a lot of what I had always hoped the RMD would offer and the RMD was already VERY AWESOME. But, the S5 has a blade shape I prefer and is lighter in weight to carry by over 3 ounces.

I might have to make a few "Minor" tweaks to my S5 to suit "My" hands and personal preferences. But, it is offering a LOT as is.

The S5 has my FAVORITE all-round use blade shape!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

For the record, I weighed my S5CG at 6.75 ounces. What a LOT of knife for the weight!!!

SS4................. = 5.5 ounces; .200" thick ; 4.25" blade; 9" oal

S5CG................. = 6.75 ounces; .185” thick; 5.125” blade; 10.125” oal

Ratmandu (micarta)....= 10.0 ounces; .189" thick; 5.3125" blade; 10.5" oal

Picking a favorite is getting SO HARD!!!

JYD #39 I prefer "SATIN" blades!!!
