Rob,
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and feelings once you get this M9LE.
I really do feel that a LOT of people missed out on this one. I think it went a bit under the wire as a sleeper.
IMO, the M9LE is VERY worthy as a GRAIL knife. And it is GORGEOUS.
IMO, for looks, these simple classic diagonal cut G10 scales are about as nice looking and classic as you can get.
The Res-C Battle Rat, Camp Tramp and DFLE are amazing "users" with awesome feel and balance. But, the G10 scales, full tang and satin finish on this M9LE pretty much puts any Res-C knife to shame in the looks department - while steel feeling and balancing up with the best users as well. (*Just keep some Ren-Wax or similar on satin SR-101 - I have already waxed it. )
I have owned many other Busse and kin blades, but I have yet to own a close to comparable sized Busse or Swamp Rat (without Res-C) to feel and balance as nicely as the M9LE.....and all for about half the price of a comparable sized Busse INFI satin knife.
The M9LE might not be the "Baddest" Busse and kin knife ever made, but for it's size catagory, the M9LE has to rank VERY near the top as one of the most classic, best feeling knives to use, in hand or just to fondle and drool on. And I personally think the M9LE ranks WAY up on the scale of best looking Busse and kin knives I have seen.
I really think you will love it.
