crazy story, somber bear...

I had lightning hit a house I was in once... saw it travel right down the drainspout for the gutter... it even heated the nails that held the spout in, and made the brick they were seated in explode. impressive sight.

is it true that if there's rain at the beach, you're safest under water (as you are a lower spot than anything around)(definitely not under a tree)?
