I'm in for a good SYKCO Chopper. The DFLE is still one of my very favorite blades, I look forward to any new Scrapper that has the potential to match it on my favorites list.
A thinner DFLE with a 12" blade would work pretty well as a machete, yet be rigid enough for batoning and chopping but light enough to swing all day in the bush. I really don't know why I bother to even worry about any of this at my age. Thirty minutes of machete work in this humidity and heat wilt me anyway. I just got in from clearing my big ditch out with a potato rake and using a machete to chop out roots and shrubs to get the water flowing. But the NE wind brought the tide in and now the water is flowing in instead of out. I quit for today. I can't fight the moon and the wind.
