Unless you get #1, which indeed might have additional collector value at some point, the whole JYD numbering discussion is largely about personalization. I don't monogram my shirts, hankies, socks, or underwear so monogramming my knife with my JYD # is not a priority for me. I know others enjoy it and that's fine. Whatever floats your boat.

I did purchase a Kershaw Junk Yard Dog knife with my JYD # engraved on it at one point because I appreciate the novelty of owning a non-SYKCo Junk Yard Dog. (Thanks Bruce)

I can just imagine the blank look I'd get after telling a local that the number on the knife is my JYD #, LOL.
