I'm certainly not "in the know", but I've gotten the impression from discussions with the crew at knob creek that when a run is put into production, more blanks are cut than usually get finished. For instance, when I asked if it might be possible to get a Groove Master, Garth said he'd check to see if they had any blanks left over. Also, at the last Knob Creek, they commented that the Sarsquatches had been ground from the last blanks. So, that's one way that older knives get made.

I would also assume that military orders result in leftovers. There were a lot of S6s and RMDs at the last Knob Creek -- far more than I would have expected from just finishing some blanks that were laying around the shop.

Finally, in addition to what's already been noted, Rat Traps were last offered at the Fall 2007 Knob Creek. I bought 3 -- I sold one at cost, traded another, and have one left; I wish I'd bought more of them.
