I have checked out the knife and it looks to be a good choice...it is 440C stainless and the design is by Jerry Fisk and with an 8 inch blade should be fine as a chopper...when I first joined here I posted about knives I had owned and used in the past and one which I used a lot was a Blackjack Marauder which like SY knives came with a Res C handle...here is a pic of the knife...



It also was 440C steel and mine was not double edged as the one above but single with a flat spine...now that was a great chopper with a 9 inch Bolo blade and I gave it to the son of a friend who was going into our Para Regiment.

I had used this for a long time...I got it after having a Khukri I picked up in the Falklands stolen off my belt webbing...and can vouch for the quality of their knives...mine came with a great razor sharp edge...and could hold it well. You should have no problem with yours....it is a good knife...
