You're outside, its getting dark. Your knife slips out of your hands and into a shallow stream or pile of dead leaves. Bet orange would be nice to have then, rather than a black handle and tanker gray blade.

With the orange handle you can easily see it, it won't be easy to confuse with something else, and you know what end to grab to get it back.
