How is that RM grip when chopping? Does it sting a little? You can be honest

Yeah, a little bit. Especially when you have it stuck really good and it won’t budge and you hit it really hard. Padded gloves help. There’s one thing that I like about micarta over res-c. If you get a knife stuck and can’t baton through it, you can use the baton to beat on the handle from the other direction to loosen it so you can remove it. With res-c, you have to either wrap the handle in an old towel or something, or use your foot and kick it out. If ya slip, you could loose a foot though.

Funny you mention that, because I had to kick mine today I got really stuck in that first log I tried to baton through. I got another 12" or so in from where I took the picture, and just got insanely stuck and it was so thick that I only had about 1/2" of tip sticking out. Lots of kicking and grunting to get my knife back!!!

Good point about handle batoning. I still need to abuse the CGFBM, that may filfil my Micarta chopping needs!!
