I finally had a bit of enlightenment the other day. I have not been happy with the edge on my S5le and have slimmed it by hand with diamond files several times. The other day I had a bit of a brainstorm and remembered my lansky sharpening system. I guess this was after someone on BF mentioned that they could not get the edge they wanted on a Strider and wanted to know what Busse to replace it with only to be insulted by several of the respondents .

It was then that I remembered that the only reason I put it away was the ZDP-189 folder I tend to edc has a super hard blade and tended to rip up the stones, all but the sapphire hone, instead of being able to be sharpened. Although INFI is given a pretty hard edge at Rc. 60 it is still a bit softer than that folder (65-67 ). Going through the 120-280-600 grit stones at the constant angle really helped quite a bit. After honing with the sapphire stone at the same angle I stropped it for a while working my way up to naked leather. My S5le now easily shaves off fine back of the neck hairs. It is nice to be able to get the edge I want on a knife without having to invest more for the privileged.
