Good stuff. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> A friend of mine taught me how to drill for fire, and let me use his tools. I think that's really the best way to learn how: to use a drill set that is "known good". The drilling itself is already a bit of a trick, it's very hard to learn how to do it effectively if your tools are fighting you. You can only go about building a bow drill of your own if you know how it's supposed to work. Confidence and mindset is an issue here too. People are infinitely more likely to give up if they are working alone on something they have never seen demonstrated, versus working with a teacher.
