I didn't really want to put this in a thread of its own. This seems like an okay place.
Since I am now past six months of ownership, I'll copy and paste the text from the two review emails I sent to Dan, Patti, and Renee.

I am really liking this knife.
I apologize for disliking the overly thick blade. The reason I apologize for it is that I was really afraid such a thick knife would be heavier than this one feels. The Regulator is really not very heavy, and the balance is exactly the way I like it for a fighting knife. Some people might really like the “crow bar” style of overly thick knives, and yours are great. Still, I’d rather have this one at .200” to .220” for better slicing. Then, the Regulator would be so very light and fast.
The thickness hinders slicing ability in my experience so far with the Regulator. I want this knife to slice as well as thrust.
Also, I would love to see this thing made with a 9.5 to 10” blade. A thin .200” blade could still make it very light and fast for a fighting Bowie. Please try to keep the balance point the same though. Increase the profile of the tang if you need to move balance back toward the handle.
I would also still [the word "still" was used because I mentioned this in a post back when the Regulator was being discussed, before the TT was allowed to be purchased through emails from forum members] like to have blade catches (like on the Yard Hook) on both the top and bottom. However, doing some increasingly forceful thrusting tests with the Regulator, the handle does a very good job of preventing the hand from sliding forward when thrusting[,] with a reverse grip and with a normal grip even with reversed edge tactics.
The handle shape is great. It is very, very comfortable and provides a great forward grip (normal), forward with reversed edge, and reversed grip. Some might say they would like some other indexing marks, but I find that this knife indexes naturally for me no matter what grip I use.
What would I like to see regarding the sale of the Regulator?
a. I would like to see it offered with the option of fat (.330”) or skinny (.200”).
b. Offer the LE model in INFI at the same time the CG is offered.
c. I like the brown Res-C on my S5CG and the OD Res-C pictured in your first pictures of the Regulator. Black is classic.
d. Offer as many coating colors as you want, but my favorite is Sage. Please make Sage available on this knife.
e. Keep the 7.5” Regulator CG price down at $140 or below. Keep the LE INFI model at $200 or below.

Okay, it’s time for a few more notes regarding this knife.
I still really like it.
I have carried it and used it for so many things. It does very well for my uses. It has become my main carry knife for hunting.
One more time I must say that it is too thick – for me. Many people who normally buy Scrap Yard, Swamp Rat, and Busse Combat knives will love to be able to buy such a thick knife. However cool and tough a super-thick knife might be, I truly believe that if you offered it at a thickness of .200” to .220” it would be a truly incredible fighting knife.
The balance point is currently perfect and the grip is excellent in my opinion.
One more new idea this time from me…offer it in 154CM like the Muk. I’d really like it in that steel. I’d love to see you offer it in that steel. I’d rather see it offered with a choice in steels (SR101, 154CM, and INFI), thicknesses (.330” or .220”) and lengths (7.5” and 9.5”) than coating and handle colors. With your current business model, I think it could be done.
My other comments from before are below [see Email Number One above]. I stand by them.
The ultimate Regulator for me would be .220” thick, 154CM steel, and have double blade catches mentioned in my earlier email (see below)[see Email Number One above].
Thanks again for letting me have this opportunity to provide my thoughts and enjoy these knives.

All I can say about the recent pictures Dan posted...
I really like it (understatement <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ) and will buy at least one and maybe several.
The tough thing is that I am not sure whether I will be able buy one and then order several more directly from Scrap Yard Knife Company like a was able to do with the Bushwacker Mistress.
