Hopefully Roberto plays better then Marty did.
To be honest though Roberto hasn't played great.
One thing the Americans are good at is the what have you done lately attitude.
In Torino Canada chose a lot of guys that were past their prime based on who they used to be.
This time last year everyone thought the US would have Tim Thomas in net, but he was outplayed by Millar during the NHL season so boom he is the guy.
What did Canada do, they took the guy with the most playoff wins over the past 3 seasons and put him 3rd string (Fluery), made the guy who has a history of not getting it done in the big game the back-up(Luongo). They guy they put in net was perhaps the greatest goalie of all time but last year he played poorly in the play-offs and really hasn't played well this season. I would have like to have seen Cam Ward picked instead of Marty.

Ignla has played poorly all season and we choose him to play.
Pronger and Neidimier are having absolutely brutal NhL seasons and we put them on the team. The only game they played well was against the Russians.

The only reason the Swiss game went into overtime was because of a couple of bad goals. Then they sit Luongo for 6 days (a goalie with a history of bad starts after a lay-off) to play Marty against the US and he lets in a few soft goals.

The Americans have the right idea, earn your spot on the team based on what you are doing today, not last year
