I didn't go for one. I think it looks cool and it might be beneficial in a knife fight. However, having the whole spine sharpened costs you the capability to baton, and makes asserting that it's a tool (as opposed to a weapon) a harder sell.
That's my opinion; the folks who ordered them will probably feel differently, and my opinion is certainly no more valid than theirs. I own a custom shop RMD with a sharpened swedge, and I like it a lot, but if you're only going to have one, I think you're better off with the standard RMD. I will admit that the RatChute is less common , which tends to increase its value as a collectible.
