First off, hiya! You guys might have a fellow scrapyard dog on your hands here. But I had a question. See I can't really afford a regulator right now, I have a Credit card but buying one would be a little painful, but from everything I read and find, it's exactly the type of knife I want. A beast of a knife that can survive going to hell and back without needing to be babied. I want to use it! I want to abuse it! For prince/quality, everything seems to scream Regulator. But from my research, I know there are a few differences between the sr-101 steel used in the regulator and the sr-77 used in the Scrapper 6. I don't actually own any knives at the moment, but I do want a rugged survival knife that wont fail me when I need it most. I like the good stuff, especially if my life may depend on it one day. What sold me on the Scrap Yard knives is the destruction test of the Scrapper 6 here: http://www.knifetests.com/scrapyardscrapper6test.html

So my question is how well does the design and the steel of the Regulator compare to the Scrapper 6? Is it tougher or more fragile? Which holds a better edge? I can't get a Scrapper 6, but I most certainly plan on getting a Regulator, but my aforementioned financial situation makes me a little hesitant. The only reason I'm considering it is because once the Regulators done production, it's gone, for good, and it's exactly what I want. So any enlightenment on the comparison would be most appreciated to anyone who takes the time to reply to humble ol me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
