made this marlinspike today in the old mans school shop forge. Basic steel, drawn down to a taper point and curved slightly, then ground the handle area square. Smoothed and polished with 400, 800, 1000 and 1200 grit 3m autobody paper, and then wiped clean with solvent / rag and waxed with beeswax and a rag.

its big and beefy, for pushing/wedging/prying open tough braided ropes or working knots loose.
