The stock sights on that rifle are amazing. I love the larger aperture on the Scout and SOCOMs, and still accurate enough to really reach out and touch someone. Even the mil aperture on my Standard M1A is good for rapid acquisition. Much better than the aperture on the F2000. I remember handling one in a gun shop, I could barely even make out the front sight post through the peep, much less see my target.

M14s are interesting in the way they operate. I couldn't find a SUPER slo mo video, where you could see it better, but this video shows it, the front reciever bridge around the barrel extension actually flexs during firing. It's almost imperceptible, but if you look closely you can see it just before the extraction cycle begins. Camerawork is a little shaky though, doesn't help much in picking it out. They have some fun with some geysers at the end too.
