I guess my feeling where the handle is concerned is that, if I'm actually going to buy a Scrapizashi to use rather than just hang on a wall, I should add the cost of rehandling it to its overall purchase price. After all, there's a reason why a manufacturer with the stature of the Bussekin won't warranty an aspect of one of its products. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time that's ever happened.
Adding the $50 rehandle cost (plus shipping) to the price of the Scrapizashi puts me in Waki territory. If I spend a few more dollars and buy the Waki, I get the famous Busse stem-to-stern warranty. So I don't have to worry about using it. And I get a better alloy in the process.
That's just my thinking, of course. YMMV.
I think everyone understands the position. This is why I had asked about the possibility of a no wrap offering...but that got nixed by the top Dog. I'm going to lay silent on this, and see how it plays out.
