[quote]Well, everyone has their own interpretation of what is appropriate. No posting rules/guidelines were ever discussed. For instance, Dan himself I believe posted a pic of a bloody dog fighting with a hog. A lot of people would think (not me though) that that is gory/animal abuse/torture and would not want their children to see something like that, and could perhaps give them nightmares, and/or an unrational fear of dogs etc. I’ve seen pics of Busses/Rats posted on other forums covered it blood, and usually of the animal in question cut open with blood everywhere. Most people not into knives would be horrified at such a pic, and would probably think the person taking the pic has a screw lose. Again – not me, you know the people I’m talking about. Probably most of our friends and relatives that are not into knives. My family thinks it’s weird that I take pics of my knives in outdoor poses. I think they’d call a shrink if I started taking bloody knife pics. I think most people in general would not think such pics are “family friendly”. Just giving an example of interpretations of what is appropriate.
Andy,
Since most of us are adults here, we should know better to keep the line between what's generally acceptable and what isn't and as long as we use common sense, there won't be need for moderators to watch over us. I'd rather see Dan "Dumpster man" Busse continue to work on bringing us cool bladeware instead of having to waste time editing inappropriate posts. I also think there's a difference between hunting pics (as bloody as they may be) and the other stuff, which has it's place elsewhere.
my 2 cents
