I'd had whoop for 15-years, and she went into convulsions due to renal failure last month. It sure was hard to let go; I probably waited too long for it to get that far along, but I kept hoping it was something else and that she'd bounce back. I still miss her a lot, but getting another dog, Zuki, has helped a lot. Sorry for your loss; each of us grieves in our own way, but for me, getting another affectionate pet has proven to be an effective path to healing.
