Do you have a dremel? Combine that with high speed cutting disk and that will cut kydex fast.

You can probably find a used one for really cheap on craigslist/garage sale/flea market.

You can also use a hacksaw if you can clamp the kydex down with a vise. Just clean it up afterwards on your sander.
