I would be trying not to hit the edge hard with my Diamond stone. Mine is really really aggressive though, good for in-field touch ups really. It's definitely a lot easier to sharpen on the ceramic rod, but it's also 3x as long as the diamond rod. I can hit the whole blade length with the ceramic rod in one swipe. it takes almost 4 on the diamond.
Yes, that is what I found out. It is a bit better but I did not mess with it much this weekend due to Mom's Day.
