I'm thinking a large bench stone would be best for a long blade like the scizzy if you don't have a belt sander or paper wheels available.

Look into Renaissance Wax for rust prevention.
Great stuff,it's non oily so there's no mess.
I've been using the same little jar since I started buying Bussekin blades.(almost 2 years)
You wipe it on & it dries instantly,so like I said,no mess.
It's spendy,but worth it IMO.(Just like my knives <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />)
