I agree With Banana-Clip. Why sacrifice two inches of blade length just to save an ounce or two. The difference in length won't matter that much as for carry purposes but could make a big difference "Out there" where the extra two inches could mean the difference in getting it done or just getting (barely) by.

If I was just going to be walking around "day hiking" I would carry my bulldog or SOD. If I was going on an extended trip, even overnight camping, it would be my Dog father AND the Bulldog. Oh yeah and my WarDog as well and Possibly my Muppy just because it's so handy.
