Yea I have heard that SR101 chips easier but seeing as I don't have hands-on experience with either I am not a good judge. I would like one of each. Seeing that SR-77 is a shock steel it would seem to be better for chopping and batoning. 52100 is used for ball bearings so they have got to be able to take a beating too. Both awesome steels either way.
