How long do the belts last?

The original belts still cut after doing all these. Replacements cost $0.57 each

What about what others are saying about it not giving a good tip?

Stop each pass in the middle of the belt and raise it straight up off the sharpener if using a guide. I use it freehand alot, that works great too.
