While reading some threads posted by those who have already gotten their 711's and looking at the pics they posted of them , I see that the 1 3/4" width spec is not a mistake . It seems to be the grind back on the blade for some reason . Look at the 2 photos below . The first one is the photo of the 711 from the Scrap Yard site and the second photo is one that Azwelke posted of his 711 that he got today . If you look at the choil on both knives you can clearly see that the knife on the Scrap Yard site does have a much wider blade and the photo of Azwelke's knife shows the blade ground down a good 1/8" more .

Anyway , as so many have said , I'm sure the knife will become a classic . I simply expected it to be as depicted on the site and to those specs . As I said earlier on this thread , this only matters to ME because I have another knife close to the same size and thought there would be more difference between the 2 . If not for that I wouldn't care in the least as I know it's a guality knife and at a fair price .
