I got it on sale for about 65 bucks.
I was on a thread concerning a BOB years ago and several LEO's had answered that they recommended to get a "non-military looking" bag. They said if there was a crowd of people, like after Katrina, and they saw a guy with all his camo gear they would say "that's a gun guy, lets check him out". My kestrel is plain looking and really well built...thats all I want.

Fair logic, but with so many Alice packs on the surplus market I think those would be safe, put a piece patch or mark it up with a marker, look hip,:)
Avoid modern, Molle type if your concerned.
The red wings are great packs and a sleeper is the Coleman line at walmart. Not the best but the internal frame is sound, material good and price right. Not a bad pack for bob and the occasional outing. Is it the same as my kifaru heck no but it's decent.
