Just by coincidence the 711 and RMDLE arrived yesterday at the same time. Whoa. Never had that happen. Double the pleasure. Double the fun! I was so stoked that I just had to lay out the booty and do some size comparisons.

The RMD I already know quite well from having the regular version. The 711 needs to be put to the test. It is just screaming to split some cord wood real soon. It looks like it will just eat stuff up. I think it’s also going to be my primary on camping trip in a couple weeks. It is even better in the hand then I had hoped, and I already had high expectations.

The DFLE I owned for some time previously and used often then stupidly, I mean STUPIDLY sold it off with a bunch of other things to raise some needed cash. It didn’t take long to regret that decision, but it did take a long time to get one again. I’ve been beating this one up a little bit... just for old time's sake... and the blade its still incredibly nice looking.

The B10LE #2 I grabbed couple weeks ago on an Exchange deal that I just couldn’t pass up. However, there will be no chop off as it’s a safe queen that I’m putting away for my son... or my daughter depending who ends up pissing me off less ;-)

When you get down to it I believe that the DFLE would be the better chopper. The extra weight, forward balance, blade profile. I’ve used it enough to know that it’s a great chopper, and relativey light and agile compared to similar big choppers.

The B10 will do very well I’m sure, but it just seems to be designed to be a large all-rounder that should also chop well. The 14 1/2 ounce weight just blows me away for something this substantial. I bet you can carry and swing this one all day long. A lot of times that's exactly what you need.
