well the past week due to the sudden change in the weather, going from near 70 degrees to 5 inches of snow in a few days, i kind've got a small mouse problem.
the other night i a rustling by the trash can by the bed. turned on the lights and saw a field mouse run from the trash can to under the computer desk. figured all great got a mouse in house.
took the one old wooden snap trap and smeared some peanut butter on it and hoped for the best. well woke up the next morning with the peanut butter gone but the snap hadn't sprung.
went to the store the next day and got a new plastic snap trap and set of glue traps. baited and set the snap trap and then placed the glue trap in front of it.
tonite i awoke to the rustling on the floor again turned on the light and saw not only had i caught one mouse in the snap trap(dead) but got another one with his hind legs stuck in the glue trap.
not wanting to cause any unwanted suffering i grabbed my bird dog and took the glue trap with the mouse still attached outside and one fell swoop removed his little head.
feel sorry for the little guy, but it's my home not his.
