In my Army days (5 years Army, 17 years Air Force), I performed in over 20 Military funerals. I was one of the guys that always faced the "audience". Trying to keep a stoic face while seeing mothers, wives, and the worst, kid’s tears was some of the toughest duty I ever had to pull. It was also the most rewarding.
Caring the casket, folding the flag, and showing the utmost respect for the fallen is perhaps the greatest honor that a military member can perform for another military member.

Remember this: Everytime I blink, you disappear.
