Do you need molle? I found I ended up never using the molle or strapping too much gear on. For a general use pack / extended weekender I like the Kelty Redwing 50. Very durable and comfy. Hiking packs have always treated me better than military packs.
Better to have and not need than need and not have. I've found it really useful on my MOAB and I've found several pouches that I like and use. I've got a 5-11 attached to the MOLLE strips on my BOB and I've got a place in mind on the Jumbo for my War Dog.
