Even after chopping enough silver maple and some lilac for a nice cook fire it would make fuzz sticks and slice paper cleanly on the area of the blade that did the most chopping. The whole pile took about 8 to 10 min of chopping I could have cut that almost in half I would guess if I had a decent chopping block but I was using a 2 1/2 inch branch so I was getting a lot of bounce sometimes.
