I, for one, am not a fan of Orange. I prefer my Dogs to be subdued.
I tend to favor the darker colors, but that orange sure makes it hard to lose and there are a bunch of folks who love the brights

I think it's a good idea to have one knife that's hard to loose. In low light conditions it's not easy to find a knife from the ground even if you just left it there for a second.
