For edc (smaller knives in urban setting) i prefer micarta or even cheapo zytle to ResC...  just because the ResC grips clothing a little too much, making a fast draw unreasonable imo.  But for larger choppers,...  ResC is king.  
I was taking down a large and recently dead Apricot tree a few days ago..  very dry, hard, dense wood.  My M6 gave a brutal shock through the micarta handle, i can live with it, but she was brutal.  My larger Battle rat (tan grip, same as your pics) was a pleasure to work with.  Sure it bit harder and deeper into the wood (being a larger knife) but that also means i was impacting harder aswell, and the ResC ate up the jarring vibrations and such...
