My marlin 22 bolt gun is a tackdriver and I love it. That being said I hardly ever take it squirrel hunting because it makes so much noise. The squirrels seem to start moving after the shot much faster with a less powerful round. I prefer to take the quietest .22 that is accurate with that load. I only take head shots (or try to) on squirrels so power and hollowpoints don't matter. For an all around rifle though a Marlin .22 mag is hard to beat.
