My 2 cents.

I have several Surefire lights and they are wonderful. I also have several Fenix lights. The one or two I use almost daily. (Not special purpose, just every day)

are the Fenix lights
They are smaller, lighter, very bright LED lights that use cheap AA and AAA and also CR123 batteries. For the $ spent, have a great value/performance ratio.

For hard use --- Surefire.
