You're right, it does need more pics. I've thought about starting a thread dedicated to showing the improvements I've made to it. But I know it will be months between each improvement I make, and I'd rather keep everything on the first page. Too bad we can't edit our posts after one day.

I took it to the range today and I let an old friend of mine who had never fired one empty a magazine. That thing is incredibly loud now! We drew a small crowd.

We heard someone shooting a few lanes down from us say "where's a Marine when you need one?" He was having trouble getting his ACOG sighted in. I've been out of the service for 12 years so I don't have any experience with them. My buddy just retired 18 months ago so he went over and got him squared away.

We had fun and it was a good day.

I'll try to get some rifle posted today. Hopefully I can put my daughter down for a nap so I can get my rifle out.

Don't take my nudge too seriously. I was trying to generate a little interest in this thread. 7.62x51mm is by far my favorite cartridge, and your mod'd FAL brings back memories of all of them I've owned.

I figured the MB would be a bell ringer. That's the second trade off with them.

I love the way an well built FAL feels, and shoots. They just "feel right" if that makes any sense.

Oh yes indeed... even the slightly effeminate metric versions feel like you are handling a tool that was designed to work and work well... wink

I'm happy to own the slightly effeminate version.

Hey, how do you guys feel about the folding charging handles? I'm kind of finding them to be a little PITA. Maybe I'll switch to the knob type.

I prefer the folding, have used both back in the day and prefer the Commonwealth mod. That said, nothing wrong with a big knob sticking out the side I guess....if it excites you... wink

I like the concept of the fch, but I'm not digging it as much as I thought it would. I have shotguns with big knobs, so I guess they don't bother me.
