It is an interesting little round, more so in a PDW than a handgun though I believe.

I want a SCAR17 sort of bad. Just not sure I can afford both the M1A and a SCAR17 but I'm not willing to sell my M1A to buy the SCAR17.

Lazi , I sold my last five M1As last year. I had amassed a collection of them. I haven't looked back after picking up the first Scar.

No you don't . I broke extractors, a bolt, an oprod and had a receiver so out of a spec the factory scope mount would not work.
They're hobby grade range toys.

I have been tempted by the m1a but I find when I look at the machining the slop and also the difficulty adding the accessories I like discourages me.
