I've owned quite a few FALs and several Scars. I can say, hands down, the FAL "feels" like a higher quality weapon.

However, in the tradition of the internet...

GET BOTH wink

Adam,
I like your rifle. The inch pattern front sight is my favorite. It's much "brighter" than the standard metric.

Thank you!

I bought this particular rifle because it has a metric receiver, but has all of the inch pattern "improvements" as well. The only thing I'm not liking as much as I thought I would is the fch. If I get rid of it then I will have a chance to try out a Vanden Berg Custom free-float tube. I also plan to get a SAW-style pg and different stock of some sort.

The only other FAL I've ever seen with my own eyes was an FN FAL that I got to shoot back in 2000. I really enjoyed shooting it.

I love the Inch pattern except those with a folding rear sight, and that dreaded FCH.

I'll take a knob in the back over that thing!

Back in the early 1980's when I first started with the military gear and rifles I saw a picture of English soldiers patrolling the streets of Ireland wearing OD trousers and a DPM smock while carrying an L1A1. That image of a soldier still defines "cool" for me. That long Browning FH and mix matched uniform just looked "hard".
