I ordered a new barrel and compensator for a pistol. The Racism ranked and afterburner. It appears to be a usable comp and I like the mounting system.

It reviews pretty well and I shouldn't have to buy special holsters for it.

I’ve been eyeing an Sig MPX with a 4.5 inch barrel. What do you guys think about it? I’ve got a couple guns I’ve never fired that I could trade.

I like the MPX. It makes a great host for an SBR or if the pistol brace fiasco is over as is. The biggest negative is the price of magazines. About $50 bucks a pop.

If you are looking for a pcc a Ruger takedown PCC with a magpul stock is pretty darned hard to beat. But it dies have a 16 inch barrel. Takes both block and river pistol mags using an adapter.

I hear ya MB. But my trade in would be a 9mm with a 16 inch bbl. And the other one either a full size or commander size 45acp. I’m wanting something quite a bit smaller, hence the MPX.

Right now I’ve settled on 4 different CCW arms, with order of carry being:
1. H&K VP9SK
2. Sig P320 X-Compact W/ Romeo 1 PRO RDS and Suppressor height nite sights
3. Springfield Hellcat
4. Walter PPS M2 W/Shield RDS

As you can plainly see I am heavily invested in 9mm.

BUT, If it wasn’t for my back issues I WOULD be carrying my:
Colt C.C.O. Model Colt Gunsite Pistol Lwt Officers 45ACP with 4.25 inch barrel.
I feel very fortunate to get this gun (that I don’t think was ever fired) According to Colt there was only 100 made with these specific parts/configuration.

I like the 45ACP. grin

You are set up well for choices

What do you shoot the best?

I really like the VP 9, A lot.

Modern 9mm is nothing to sneeze at. And with higher capacities it definitely adds some more capability.

I found with the right pistol and red dot setup I never lose the Red Dot during recoil and it makes follow-up recovery and requiring the target very fast. As much as I like my 45 ACP and 40 caliber that aspect makes 9 mm definitely worth it, in my opinion.

You are correct about the “recoil control” MB, but I basically grew up (my first handgun was a 45) with the 45. That being said I have others that fit my hand better.

The VP9SK is what I most always carry. It just fits my hand so nice. I carry it AIWB in a JX Tactical Fat Guy holster. It makes this Homer Simpson body able to comfortably carry that way, and it’s well hidden by a size larger T-shirt. I have a 15 round mag in the gun and carry one spare.

Next would be my Sig P320. Sometime before or for Christmas I’m gonna get a Fat Guy holster for it and start carrying it more often.

The other two are just good smaller carry guns but don’t get carried that much by me although I do carry the Walther more than the Hellcat Cause the Walther has an RDS.

I do agree with you about the “knock down power” of the 9mm with the advances in ammo. Plus weight for weight you can carry more 9mm than .45acp. Even though personally I wouldn’t want to be hit by one, several “experts” say 9mm can be effective out to 100 yards and even more depending on clothing being worn by the bad guy. That’s what Garand Thumb said when he was testing out the MPX Copperhead (at least the one with the 4.5 inch bbl).

I ALMOST pulled the Trigger on a CMMG Mk17 BANSHEE. But that is a lot of money for something that mostly qualified as eye candy and I DON’T HAVE ONE. So after much soul searching and trying to do the “adult” thing, I’ve decided to keep my Beretta CX4/PX4 Storm combo and just upgrade the sights. I’m thinking about the Aimpoint ACO or the Pro. Either one would look good and work real nice in the Carbine. And it will leave something left over to buy some more magazines and Freedom Seeds. grin

Sorry to disappoint. BUT I did stumble upon something.

Walked into a GS I haven’t visited for a while during the time Patty was getting her hair done. I NEVER SHOULD HAVE WENT.

While carousing around in the store my eyes detected a PCC by a popular manufacturer named on sale. Well knowing the brand was a good one I asked to look at it. The store clerk calmly reached on the wall and removed said firearm, and after checking the mag and chamber insuring it was in fact unloaded, handed it to me. Upon getting it into my greedy little hands I began to fondl I mean appraise her attributes.

She sported a good quality folding brace that latched firmly into position with VERY little wobble, but being polymer there was some. Moving on forward I noticed very positive ambidextrous safety levers. She also had a set of Magpul MBUIS front and rear sights with a 20 round mag hanging out of the mag well. Oh and she also had a Magpul hand stop (?) attached to the very front of the M-LOK short aluminum HB Industries rail covering the full free floating 4.2 inch barrel. And on the very end of the muzzle (threaded 1/2x28) was a flash mitigator of sorts.

I looked around some more and came back to her beckoning siren call and once again asked if I might have the privilege of admiring her short statured handiness.

After this further, more detailed admiration of all she had to offer, I at last succumbed to her irresistible allure and agreed to provide her a home where she would be much Loved, used and yes, even possibly abused. BUT I could tell she relished the challenges that our union promised to bring.

So as I walked out the door with my new CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S2 , and with my wallet being lightened by an outstandingly good deal of almost a couple of C notes under 1k, I
just smiled as I ever so gently set her in the seat of our SUV. Now to start treating her like a cheap Hooker. wink

Actually I plan on replacing my H&K VP9 house gun with the Scorpion. Hear me out now.
First my eyesight is not the same since my cataract surgery. I can see at a distance but require reading glasses (over the counter)up close. So with conventional sights it is difficult for me to get a good sight picture with conventional iron sights. The H&K pistol is not Optical Sight Ready, so that’s out. The Magpul sights do allow me to get a good and rapid sight picture, so therefore the change. And being such a short gun the “time to target” between the HK and the Scorpion is so short the difference is unnoticeable to me.

But, having a Picatinny rail on top I plan on installing an optic. Right now I am torn between the Primary Arms Slx 1 Prisim sight and an aim point PRO, ACO, or the DUTY RDS. I know Aimpoint is Top Of The Line, but the price still bugs me. The PA is a Prisim scope with an etched reticule that can been seen even without battery power. Plus MANY folks are comparing it to quality and robustness that equals the ACOG.

Please pitch in on what Y’all think about the PA scope. So far MAC, Garand Thumb and Mr. Gunsngear have all touted the quality and toughness along with some lesser known YouTube posters I’ve seen.
