So far the majority of people here are Users. I keep looking at my stash of knives, and wondering if I'd be better off "cashing out of" the collectors and just enjoying the rest.

We're talking about the Competition Finish in another thread. I think bringing it in here is germane, because personally I cannot imagine paying extra for a knife that doesn't have a finish on it. Yes, I understand they grind on it a little more to remove some of the pitting, but still...

This is also why I'm selling all of my satin blades. From now on I'm only interested in coated. This is probably a step toward "users only".

I don't even think they remove any of the pitting. They just remove any burrs left over from machining and that's it. They did go a step further with the CF Bushwacker Mistress by adding a double cut finish on top of the as-forged finish. That was an effort to remove the decarb layer. I don't know how successful it was.

The INFI dimples don't or wouldn't bother me at all. To me a knife is a tool and an Objet d'art second.

I believe comp finish was blasted only once to clean the decarb.

The Busse Competition Finish was the same price as a CG finish. My Comp finish knives look better than a stripped CG. It looks like some work was done on the blades to make them look better. But they do not look better than a double cut or satin finish though.

I don't know. I can't wait to get a coated INFImandu just so I can strip it.

But those that were at Blade might be the only ones we ever see.

The only blade I own that I haven't used is my Parachutmandu (spelling?). It just seems like a pure fighting knife to me, and luckily, I haven't been in any knife fights outside of training with plastic ones.

I own a lot of one offs and customs that are safe queens but they are all more than capable of performing there designed tasks if need be. Now saying that I too am thinking of narrowing down my collection, the issue is every time I sit down to think which ones should go I just cant bring myself to do it. I have always loved knifes and I think I always will that will lead to my collection growing more so I guess I am one of the collectors. The funny thing is that for the most part my users are the most expensive of my collection. lol

Users every one.If I won't use it I sell it. Led to releasing a couple I wish I still had (BWM, DSF, Boss Jack, and the DHT Battle Rat), but I can't stand to see good steel going to waste, especially if I need the cash for something else.
