I agree Gary, the "Pits" look like they've got Zombie blood in them.

Personally, I prefer coated blades. Why not have the extra level of corrosion resistance? I've had INFI rust a little.

The CF prices dovetails into my "USER vs COLLECTOR" thread. I simply cannot see paying extra for having a knife with less protection. This is why I'm selling all of my satin blades.

For smaller blades I like a non coated blade. Just one of those old timer things I guess. I like to have my blades patina naturally.

Adam, that was an insane deal for someone. Yes, I'm constantly reminded of this. If I were psychic I would've waited a couple weeks.

Yeah I read that, but I have lost money on more deals of one kind or another than I've made money on.

Yes, Comp Finish was the same price as a coated blade, where it really fit was for the folks where bought the cheapest option (coated) with the intention of stripping the finish anyway. In effect the work was done for you (by virtue of not have been done in the first place) and the de-carb etc taken care of, in the case of the TGLBs they also got a zero edge convex sharpen as well. I don't see the extra value in Comp Finish beyond that (and I do REALLY like it to be honest). It SHOULD NOT practically command the prices you see, but that is the law of supply and demand. I wish I had more TGLBs in that finish than the one I do.

One thing I don't like that a lot of manufacturers do is that they shorten the handle length when they shorten the blade length On a 3" hunting or camp knife I love a full sized handle, I don't give a rat's behind about a "balanced look", I want a secure comfortable grip I agree wholeheartedly. I have fairly large hands and using a short-bladed knife with the currently correct "blade to handle ratio" does not work for me.
